Optional NVIDIA Acceleration for Depth Guided
Set up optional NVIDIA acceleration for Stream to 3D Depth Guided conversion, with the standard compatible graphics path retained when it is not used.
The current Stream to 3D Release 6 build can use optional NVIDIA acceleration for the existing Depth Guided conversion method on compatible PCs. Quality and Performance remain the Depth Guided processing modes. NVIDIA acceleration changes how those modes are processed; it is not another conversion method, feature purchase or output format.
Current requirements
Optional NVIDIA acceleration currently requires Windows 11 version 24H2 or later, GeForce RTX 30-series or newer graphics, and compatible current Windows and NVIDIA software. Stream to 3D checks the current PC and reports whether setup is available.
Stream to 3D itself continues to support 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. Depth Guided retains its standard compatible graphics path when optional NVIDIA acceleration is not available or not selected. Temporal conversion does not require an AI-capable GPU.
Set up NVIDIA acceleration
- Open Settings > Algorithm and select Depth Guided.
- Select Set up... next to NVIDIA Acceleration.
- If a download is needed, choose Install or Not now.
Installation needs an internet connection and can take several minutes the first time. Stream to 3D shows elapsed time and lets you cancel its setup attempt. Your selected video, screen or camera frames are not uploaded.
Not now leaves the standard compatible Depth Guided path available. Return to Settings > Algorithm > NVIDIA Acceleration > Set up... when you want to try again. Installing the acceleration component does not purchase or activate the Depth Guided feature.
When the Configuration Wizard asks
When Depth Guided is relevant to the selected workflow, the Configuration Wizard can offer optional setup before continuing. This is a download decision, not another performance test or conversion-method choice.

After successful setup, Stream to 3D does not ask again. It offers automatic setup at most once per application session; the Settings action remains available for an explicit retry. Choosing Not now does not change the selected conversion method or force Temporal conversion.
Performance and first use
The first operation after setup can take longer while the acceleration component prepares itself. Source resolution, output layout, requested frame rate, other PC activity and the selected workflow still determine complete performance.
The Configuration Wizard measures practical Play and Stream choices using the selected source. Optional NVIDIA acceleration can materially improve Depth Guided performance, but no GPU model guarantees real-time operation for every source and setting. Convert can use Depth Guided even when processing is slower than real time.
If optional NVIDIA acceleration cannot start, Stream to 3D can continue through the standard compatible Depth Guided path. Temporal also remains available as a complementary, efficient conversion method.
If setup or initialization does not complete
- Check Windows Update, the NVIDIA graphics driver and the internet connection.
- Return to Settings > Algorithm > NVIDIA Acceleration > Set up... to inspect status or retry.
- If the status says unavailable, continue with the standard Depth Guided path or Temporal.
- If setup was cancelled, allow the status check to finish before retrying.
- For a repeatable failure, include the application version, GPU name, Windows version, setup status, selected workflow and relevant log excerpt when contacting support. Do not send source video unless explicitly agreed.
